The Pelvic Floor Muscles (PFM) play an integral role in ‘core' strength and spinal stabilization, yet many of us (movement professionals included) overlook their importance. Without this essential component coordinating and functioning well, we do not have a solid foundation to build upon for strength training, mobility work, yoga postures, or breathing well for that matter!


And, sadly we’ve normalized pelvic DYSfunction so much so that many people mistakenly believe their pain or discomfort is an expected part of aging and/or birthing. And, this is simply not the case. Join Melissa and get clear on the FACTS about pelvic health and function so that you can take control of your own wellbeing.

​Each workshop is three hours and costs $75.

What you will learn: 

  • A basic understanding of the anatomy, physiology and functionality of the Pelvic Girdle and its surrounding musculature.  
  • The role the PFM play in core strength, spinal stability, continence, organ support and sexual health. 
  • How to manage intra-abdominal pressure and understand the impact that different shapes and positions have upon it.  
  • What constitutes pelvic dysfunction and how to identify it. 
  • The difference between pelvic floor ‘weakness’ and ‘overactivity’ and techniques to work with both.
  • Pelvic health as it relates to pregnancy, postnatal and peri to post menopause. 
  • The principles of integrated functional pelvic floor movement. 
  • How to properly cue pelvic floor activation (in men and women) and learn if and when it’s appropriate. (mula bandha anyone?!)
  • Clear, evidence-based research to support you on your journey to pelvic health.
